UNDILUTED #005

Hey Reader,

I invite you to reflect with me this week on whether authenticity has become another ideal to strive for. And what becomes possible when self-trust replaces the need to be "acceptable".

Women who refused

I'm thinking about Emily Brontë.

She wrote Wuthering Heights - it puzzled critics, broke convention, and defied many of the expectations placed on novels written by women in the mid 1800s.

What strikes me isn't that she was misunderstood, but that she never seemed interested in becoming more "acceptable".

It makes me wonder how often we edit ourselves to fit in.

I think that perhaps fitting in has never been the same thing as feeling like we belong.

Performing to Belong (with Mary Jane)

A conversation about coming home to yourself, trusting your ability to discern, embracing your quirks, and discovering that your difference is your medicine.

Returning to presence - anchoring Guide support

5 minute Spirit-led reconnection practise
Designed to reignite the magic of tangible, practical Spirit-led connection, this week's practice invites you to intentionally slow your pace (.. I know - stick with me!), and discover how tiny, consistent moments of presence can deepen trust and felt relationship.

MEET THE COMMUNITY:

While the Spirit-led Reiki Pathway is on summer break before our September cohort begins, I want to use this space normally "for students" to introduce you to some of the people who continue to shape our community long after their Pathway experience has ended. My hope is that, through getting to know one another a little better, we continue to inspire, encourage and support each other's paths - remembering that every unique expression of Spirit-led healing enriches the collective.

Meet Mhairi Therese Reilly

She helps people rediscover joy, wonder & compassion. Through her own experience of neurodivergence and chronic illness, she holds particularly strong space for people to release shame they feel about where they find themselves at in life, so they can embrace the beauty of who they are in this moment.

Connect

You'll usually find Mhairi laughing with her girls, listening to the birds and the wind, or soaking up all the feels from a good book. If her story resonates with you, she'd love to hear from you - whether that's to enquire about a session or simply say hello inside our no cost community.

In her words

"The pathway didn't show me how to strive for integrity.. it showed me how to live it. The biggest shift for me was learning how to trust myself and feel confident in my relationship with Spirit."

FOR GRADUATES:

The work beneath the work

As your focus shifts from defining your product to defining your service inside the Hearth this month, you may discover that the work isn't predominantly about your service at all. It's often about worthiness. As we continue co-creating with Spirit, you're not defining your service from the mind alone. You're allowing your relationship with Spirit, your lived experience and your soul-led way of serving to shape what wants to emerge. You might find it helpful to consider where you're still trying to earn the right to offer the medicine that's already yours. In my experience, our service doesn't ask us to become more. It invites us to become more fully ourselves.

A myth to sit with: The Descent of Inanna

The Descent of Inanna is said to be one of the world's oldest surviving myths, preserved within Sumerian texts over 4,000 years old. As Inanna journeys into the underworld, she passes through seven gates. At each one, she is required to surrender an item of her royal regalia, until she stands stripped of the symbols of her status and power. I wonder if the symbolism asks a particular question: If everything we have relied on thus far to define who we are fell away, what would still feel true? Perhaps authenticity isn't something we achieve, but something we begin to feel when we loosen our grip on the identities we've mistaken for ourselves.

An invitation to relationship

This month, many of you are once again working with a different Spirit. Remember, this isn't about gathering messages or looking for dramatic experiences. As always, it's about cultivating relationship. Notice how the Spirit you're working with (white horse, bat, the sun - whatever it is for you) begins to weave into the ordinary moments of your day. The conversations you have, the synchronicities you notice, the way you practise, the way you serve. Over time, these relationships become less about receiving guidance and more about becoming someone who naturally walks an animistic path.

Hey Reader, I invite you to reflect with me on conversations shaping energy work spaces this week - the stories we inherit, why questioning them can feel uncomfortable, and what it means to consider the perceived power we hold as practitioners. Women who refused I'm thinking about Nellie Bly. Born in 1864, Nellie was a journalist who challenged the limited subjects women reporters were often expected to write about. In 1887, she joined the New York World and was given an assignment to...

Hey Reader, I invite you to reflect with me on conversations shaping energy work spaces this week - capital-P Purpose, what happens when teachers think they know best & what we can do if it feels like there's something more to intuition. Women who refused I'm thinking about Elsie Inglis. Born in 1864, Elsie was a Scottish doctor, surgeon and suffragist who challenged the idea of what women were and weren't allowed to do. When she offered her medical services to the War Office in 1914, she was...

Hey Reader, I invite you to reflect with me on some conversations I notice shaping energy work spaces this week - conditional belonging, our own answers vs someone else's, and why many of us keep searching for what's missing.. Women who refused I'm thinking about Margaret Cavendish. Born in 1623 in England, Margaret was a writer and natural philosopher who published Observations upon Experimental Philosophy, questioning aspects of the experimental approach of the newly formed Royal Society -...
