Hey Reader,
I invite you to reflect with me on some conversations I notice shaping energy work spaces this week - conditional belonging, our own answers vs someone else's, and why many of us keep searching for what's missing..
Women who refused
I'm thinking about Margaret Cavendish.
Born in 1623 in England, Margaret was a writer and natural philosopher who published Observations upon Experimental Philosophy, questioning aspects of the experimental approach of the newly formed Royal Society - founded to investigate the natural world.
What strikes me isn't simply that she challenged the thinking of her time. It's that, as a woman with limited access to the intellectual institutions of her day, she was willing to question the methods being used to arrive at clarity, rather than assuming an established system must be the right one.
It makes me consider what becomes possible when we stay curious about how we come to know something, rather than simply accepting one way of knowing as the only truth.

Are you meditating, spirit-led reiki journeying or shamanic journeying? (And does it matter?)
A conversation about why, in my experience, different practices support different aspects of spiritual development, the missing piece that doesn't necessarily transfer over into energy work, and why holistic meditation, despite benefits, can sometimes hinder the very intuitive and spiritual connection practitioners are trying to develop. Season 5, Episode 23

When someone else's system becomes the loudest voice in the room
What happens when spiritual training teaches us to trust the framework more than ourselves?

How to build & maintain a spirit-led altar space
5 minute Spirit-led reconnection practise
Designed to reignite the magic of tangible, practical Spirit-led connection, this week's no cost practice invites you to create and tend an altar space that feels genuinely yours. Through cleansing, intention and ongoing relationship with the objects and energy you choose to place there, you can create a physical expression of your spiritual practice - a space that reflects who you are now, even if you’ve previously felt put off by the religious associations that can come with the word "altar".
MEET SOME OF THE COMMUNITY:
In their words..
"The framework was putting blocks in my way. I'm reclaiming my full authentic potential.”
"Something was missing."
"REAL DEAL. Direct connection. It's stronger, clearer and more effective. My clients have felt the difference."
"It [previous training] felt controlling at times which went against how I operate. I need to flow fluently and authentically to be able to intuit."
"Not seeing reiki as something separate but having a spirit of its own. That reframes everything for me."
"Before I was always drained. I sensed the ethical misalignments were making me physically sick."
"The power to keep what works for me and discard the rest. It's hard for me as I acknowledge my history is giving over my power to teachers."
"I’ve been part of organised religion most of my adult life, and am so over a right and wrong way to live, believe or do anything."
"The cost of not having done this would be paying the price of not living. I've never felt so connected to my guides, self and energy work."
"I've every last thing I need to practise confidently."

Now, we let it move..
As some of you head into our final business animistic skill building lesson this week, we're about to arrive somewhere interesting. You're working with your authentic medicine, you've gathered the practical business skills, shaped your Spirit-led work and it's all come together into a product and service. Now, for some of you, there is enhanced one-to-one support ahead; for others, it's time to take what you've created and begin moving with it. I know this point can hold a mixture of things - excitement, pride, uncertainty. Remember, as you bring the pieces together, you're not waiting for everything to feel perfectly finished before you move. You're exploring what it feels like to trust what you've built, understand you can continue to evolve, whilst allowing your unique offering to meet the people it's here for.

A myth to sit with: The Black Bull of Norroway
In the Scottish folktale The Black Bull of Norroway, it's said three sisters each set out to seek their fortune. The youngest waits at a witch's door for three days and, unlike her sisters, sees no coach but a great black bull coming along the road. She is frightened, but goes with him. What strikes me is that her path doesn't look like the one her sisters have taken - she doesn't receive the expected sign of what her fortune might be. Instead, something entirely different arrives. Perhaps there's something here about trusting that our path that doesn't need to look like someone else's, before we're willing to follow where it leads.

A space to bring what's arriving
I'm looking forward to you all arriving for practitioner support monthly starting Sept 1st. The monthly group supervision is something I believe is new not only to Reiki Redefined, but perhaps to the energy work world more broadly. The Power Retrieval session offers a simple, straight-up boost, particularly when you're already committed to your own growth work. And the low-touch support from me between sessions means you don't have to wait for our next monthly session if something arises and you'd like my support in exploring it - helping you uncover what feels true for you. My hope is that it becomes a steady space you can lean into regularly. You'll find all the details in your Graduates Peer chat, and you can always shout if you have any questions.
