the real cost of undervaluing your Reiki?

Hey Reader,

I've noticed we are most often taught that our worth is tied to our depletion.

Over-giving = self-less. Exhaustion = commitment. Sacrifice = love.

In my experience, it's one of the deepest challenges we as practitioners can face in stepping into our unmistakable medicine and living from our own spiritual authority - instead of performing someone else's system.

And I lived it for years - charging £25 an hour when I worked in-person, comparing my Reiki offering to what others on the High Street were doing & charging, rearranging for clients at the drop of a hat, saying yes to everyone..

..emptying myself in the name of service.

I told myself it was "caring", "accessible", "Spiritual".

What I was actually doing was creating an exchange that only flowed in one direction.

I'm not down for the "charge your worth" rhetoric. That's surface-level. And it doesn't address the actual energetic mechanics of what happens when exchange is imbalanced. For me, it still carries the underlying belief that you need to prove your value rather than embody it.

But what I am doing in this week's podcast episode is exploring sacred exchange as an actual energetic principle - the grounded mechanics of what happens when you stop accepting depletion as the price of your gifts.

If you listen in, I'd love to know your thoughts.

Blessings,

Jayne

Hey Reader, For intuitive Western Reiki practitioners, how you've been taught isn't always going to feel deeply connected. This includes symbols, chakras and even attunements. And I want to share on this today, because it's been cropping up in conversation a lot recently. You'll likely feel like I did: ..there's deeper connection available ..somethings missing ..or, "I'm intuitive, so why does this feel all a bit fragmented?" >>> when you’re working through a mainstream Reiki lineage, that...

Hey Reader, The moment a practitioner shares their distance work feels less potent than in-person sessions, I already have understanding of what's happening. They're trying to send energy across space like it's a package through the mail. And it's nothing they're doing "wrong". I understand it, because that was my experience of distance Reiki too, for many years. This is exactly what practitioners have said to me repeatedly recently. "It feels surface. Like I'm reaching across a gap." And the...

Hey Reader, I appreciate I can sometimes sound contradictory: I validate practitioners direct experience while telling them they don't need external validation. I've been asked a few questions on this over the past week, so I thought I'd share with you too, in case you find it useful. When I validate what a practitioner is perceiving or an experience in a previous Reiki learning space - when I name the energetic mechanics of what they sense already to be true - that's not the same as asking...
